24 (the show), is it more like a soap opera now?

don't get me wrong, i love 24 (at least the older ones). but now i'm feeling that they've been trying to pull through some stuff that are quite "out there".

in retrospect:

1. they've killed off some awesome characters

2. Jack is way paranoid that he tortures everyone who doesn't comply with him

3. Jack's family??? he had an affair with his sister-in-law and his nephew might be his "son" (since Kim is "gone" e.g. "a lost cause")

hopefully within the 3 year deal Sutherland just signed with FOX, Jack will get killed off. again, i love the show, but sometimes things aren't meant to be dragged on for too long.

A part of me thinks this is getting a little nuts but it is fascinating because it's tying things together from past seasons...like Graeme confessing to plotting the murders of Palmer, Tony, and Michelle. I think they pulled the trigger too soon on revealing the evil side of Phillip but there's so much going on right now that I think that'll be made up for. You also have to understand that the Jack Bauer character was tortured for two years and is not running at normal capacity. Paranoia between torture and losing basically everyone in his life would seem normal. It's still the best show on TV!

Yeah, this season is rather boring and far fetched. Way too much talking going on. I thought there would be a nice face past after the bomb went off in the third episode but nah...it has been getting worse
