Does anyone know exactly why the soap opera "Passions" is moving exclusively to Directv?

I know it's corny, but I've watched this show since the very first episode. I'm a little irritated that I have to switch from cable to directv to continue watching it. I've heard rumors that I won't be able to view it online anymore after they make the switch. Are they trying to get the show cancelled or something?

I used to have directv and it was nice, but I had to switch to cable becuase I live in a condo and you can't have a dish there. I also can't get dsl where I live so I'm stuck with roadrunner. That means if I cancel my cable service, the cost of my roadrunner will skyrocket. This REALLY sucks - anyone know what's going on??

NBC just straight up cancelled the show, so originally there were no plans to renew the contract; then rabid fans rallied to have it returned, so then it went from cancelled to shopping around for a new network (including on-line channels) And in April it was announced that Direct TV picked up the show and the new season will be part of the channels original lineup. NBC will definitely not air the show online once it switches over, and right now there's no word of who will stream it (unless someone Youtubes it)

I know, it's jacked up, ain't it? You're not alone. I barely get to watch the episodes now, because while I'm at school I miss the episodes. It's hard enough for me to get a computer around the house to watch these last final eps.( my 2 brothers and 1 sister and 2 computers. 1 my mom uses and the other, we share). It's real jacked up. I mean, they won't even put one single soap on a website so people like us can either miss out on it or by the directv. It would make it a lot easier for some people and it wold make them/us a lot happier. But I guess these days, the only happy they care about is that green paper in their pocket that they're hustling from people like us just to watch one simple EPISODE! But, once Passions ends Sept, 7 that Friday, next Monday Sept 10, the Ellen Degeneres show will be airing the whole hour Passions use to air. I mean, you find something that occupys you, and they pull the **** right from under you!!! %26gt;_%26lt;
NBC is expanding the TODAY show to 4 hours/day. It begins on the east coast at 7 a.m. and will run until 11:a.m. NBC canceled Passions to get the extra hour. Sucks, doesn't it?
NBC cancelled it! I wanna cry too! I can't afford internet and DTV!!!
My guess is ratings. I've been watching from day one as well I just hope it has a proper ending since I would be watching on DirecTV. ^_^ DJ
NBC cancelled the show eariler this yr- the fact is that Passion was the Lowest Rated soap since it started and only did well in the teen age group- Low ratings mean the show did NOT make enough $$$ to NBC to keep making it-

go to the networks website that your soaps come on such as cbs.com, nbc.com, abc.com they are usually up the next morning
You probably would be able to try either abc.com or cbs.com. You could also try soapnet.com or you could also try youtube. I guess it depends on the soap you that you are going to watch. What soaps do you watch. For me - im watch two CBS soaps and the rest i watch on ABC.
Days of Our lives and Y%26amp;R are at soapcity.com the rest would probably be at nbc.com abc.com or cbs.com
Don't know if this is available in the U.S. but people in the U.K. can watch Corination street and emmerdale on itv.com and Easteneders on the bbc iplayer.

I'm not sure if there are any that are directly translated. But I assure you there are MANY equivalents. It appears that soap operas "telenovels" are even more popular for Spanish culture. They come on ALL day instead of just during the late morning. Just watch a local syndicate channel of Univision. I'm sure you will find something very similar.

I'm Mexican and yes, there are translations for those shows and many more (like ER, Grey's Anatomy, Scrubs,...). And if you want to see them in English (with subtitles) you need cable tv. Usually people who understand English watch the original.

Most won't accept unrepresented vitas or portfolios. You'll probably have to find yourself an agent first. The first step might be to look on the internet or in the yellow pages for "talent agencies", be careful though, that you only sign with a repudable agent or agency with a proven track record. If they ask for money up front to represent you or "process your application" that is a big red flag that it's a scam.

Buy them from Drama Bookshop on West 41st Street in New York. They sell pre-formatted labels. Or just buy a Ross Reports. And by the way, the lists are useless. Everyone uses them.
That isn't how to do it. Work to get an impressive resume of experience in plays and professional classes, then try to get an agent.

I was enrolled in a private school for about 10 yr. since I was able to go to school, I knew basically everyone there, even the new people that enrolled, we were like a big family. Then we had to move because California was getting really friggin expensive. Now its 2 yr. later and I found out the pastor at that school had an affair with one of my best friends mother and "ran away with eachother". That school and the church was burned down to the ground, one of my mom's best friend died from her third time of colon cancer. It's been five months and we were recently in a car accident, and basically financially screwed for awhile. Can this happen on a normal basis???
